Easy Sri Lankan Recipes for Beginners

Sri Lankan Dhal Curry (Parippu)
“Beginner’s Best Friend”
Super easy, affordable & ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
1 cup red lentils
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp chilli powder
1 cup coconut milk
1½ cups water
Sprig of curry leaves
1 tsp mustard seeds
Method:
Boil lentils, turmeric & salt in water for 10 minutes.
Temper mustard seeds, onions, and curry leaves in oil.
Mix everything, add coconut milk, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve with: Rice, roti, or string hoppers, bread, parota or dosa
